Meet the Team

Dr Clare O’Flynn

Dr Clare qualified from UCC and completed her GP specialist training in the UK before working with the Irish Defence Forces and UN. She joined the practice here in Clane in 1996. In 2007, she completed her Masters in Women’s Health with RCSI. Her special interest is in Osteoporosis, contraception and the placement of contraceptive devices including the Mirena Coil, and Implanon and other devices.

Dr Michael Kennedy

Dr Michael qualified from Trinity College Dublin in 1992 and completed his GP training with the Dublin GP Vocational Training Scheme in 1996 gaining the MICGP and MRCGP. He qualified as a Pharmacist from Strathclyde University in 1999 and is registered with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland. His specialist interest is in Men’s Health and the management of Blood Pressure, Asthma and Diabetes.

Dr Katrina Vandamme

GP Registrars

The Woods Surgery is a training practice and each year we host 2 doctors who are completing their specialist GP training. They are fully qualified doctors who have already gained a number of years’ experience working on various teams in hospitals before entering onto a GP training Scheme.

Nurses

Our nurse Pauline manages our phlebotomy service as well as the Children Vaccination Program. Pauline also carries out procedures such as ear syringing, Cryotherapy, ECG’s and the 24 Hour Blood Pressure Monitoring service. Our nurse provides Health Education for diet, asthma, diabetes and a wide range of other topics. Pauline is also a registered Smear taker.
